Scope of Work:
|
The contract involved the construction of a 1,444 ft long span, cast in place concrete,
post tensioned bridge over the Shubenacadie River in Nova Scotia. The construction
logistics took into consideration a violent river, ice cakes, cold weather construction,
and the use of high-strength cement for the cast-in-place concrete work. In this
era 720 ft was the longest mid span for a concrete cantilevered box girder bridge
in North America.
